The Author

Catherine Chanter was brought up in the West Country and has a Masters with distinction in Creative Writing from Oxford Brookes University. She has written for Radio 4 and her short stories and poetry have been published widely. She won the Yeovil Poetry Prize in 2010 and named an Observer New Face of Fiction. The Well is her first novel and was longlisted for the 2015 CWA John Creasey (New Blood) Dagger.

The Author

Kate Hamer grew up in Wales where she completed a Creative Writing MA. In 2011, she won the Rhys Davies Short Story Competition; it was then broadcast on Radio 4. More recently she was awarded a Literature Wales bursary. The Girl in the Red Coat has been widely tipped by the media as one to watch for 2015.
